The 2018 Saperavi, aged for 24 months in French oak barrels after fermentation in stainless steel tanks using red wine technology, Wine has a dark ruby color, rich aromas of black currant, black plum, and overripe cherry with dark chocolate tones from the oak barrel. After six years of aging, the wine develops pleasant aromas of leather and smoke characteristic of aged red wine. On the palate lively acidity and velvety tannins are felt with a long, fruity finish.
Despite its aging, the wine retains lively acidity, promising years of further development and bottle aging. It pairs well with beef steak with blackberry sauce, smoked meats, and blue cheese.
